Swaayatt Robots, an autonomous driving company based in Bhopal, has successfully secured $4 million from angel investors in the United States. This latest funding milestone marks a significant step in Swaayatt’s journey towards becoming a leader in the autonomous driving industry.

Founder Sanjeev Sharma has ambitious plans for the company’s growth, aiming to raise an additional $50 million in a pre-Series A investment round within the next six to seven months. The primary objective of this funding is to expand Swaayatt’s operations and market presence in the Middle East, the UK, and North America.

Swaayatt Robots is known for its proprietary algorithms, which enable unparalleled capabilities in autonomous navigation, even on the typically chaotic roads of India. The company is committed to showcasing its sustainably scalable Level-5 autonomous driving technology. To achieve this, Swaayatt plans to broaden its research and development efforts, with a particular focus on unsupervised and inverse reinforcement learning.

Level-5 autonomous vehicles represent the pinnacle of self-driving technology. These vehicles do not require a steering wheel, human intervention, or passengers to face the road, ensuring complete independence in their operation.

Up until now, Swaayatt Robots has primarily used Mahindra Bolero vehicles for its demonstrations. However, the company intends to expand its showcase to include a variety of vehicles, such as the Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra Thar. One of the upcoming demonstrations will feature Bolero and Thar vehicles autonomously navigating and crossing paths.

Valued at approximately $175 million, Swaayatt Robots is poised for substantial growth. CEO Sanjeev Sharma stated, “Going forward, with this new fundraising of $4 million, which is part of a larger fund we are raising with global investors, we will actively be inventing new AI capabilities to solve the problem of autonomous general navigation.”
