Flipkart Group has added Dan Bartlett, Walmart Inc.’s Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs, to its board of directors. This strategic move underscores Flipkart’s commitment to leveraging global expertise as it continues its growth journey in the Indian market.

Bartlett, a seasoned corporate strategy, public policy, and sustainability leader, oversees Walmart’s public policy initiatives and sustainability programs. He also manages the development of the retail giant’s new headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas. His extensive experience aligns with Flipkart’s vision of building a sustainable and inclusive business.

Bartlett has been actively engaged with Flipkart since Walmart’s landmark investment in the Indian e-commerce giant in 2018. “Joining Flipkart’s board is an exciting opportunity. Flipkart has made significant strides in improving accessibility and value for Indian consumers and has a chance to play an even larger role in sustainable growth and job creation.

I look forward to contributing to the company’s progress,” Bartlett said.

The appointment follows the recent addition of Lydia Jett, former Managing Partner at SoftBank, to Flipkart’s board, signaling the company’s efforts to strengthen its leadership with diverse global perspectives.

Bartlett’s career spans leadership roles in public relations firms such as Hill+Knowlton Strategies and Public Strategies, Inc. He also served in prominent public service roles, including as a key advisor in George W. Bush’s political campaigns and later as a counselor to President Bush at the White House.

With Bartlett’s expertise, Flipkart is poised to bolster its position in India’s dynamic e-commerce sector while prioritizing sustainable growth and contributing to the local economy.
