Jason Kothari Launches Mythik to Globalize Eastern Mythology Through Tech-First Storytelling.

Jason Kothari, the former CEO of Housing.com and a seasoned entrepreneur in the tech and entertainment space, has announced the launch of Mythik, a tech-driven entertainment venture that aims to bring the richness of Eastern mythology, folklore, and historical narratives to a global audience.

In an exclusive report by The Economic Times, Kothari emphasized the cultural imbalance in global entertainment, where Western narratives have long dominated platforms and screens. “Global entertainment has been dominated by Hollywood and Western stories. It’s time to share Eastern stories—our history, culture, values, and greatest legends—with the world,” Kothari stated, outlining his vision to merge tradition with technology.

Mythik plans to develop immersive storytelling formats that can reach up to 3.5 billion people across Asia and beyond. The company’s founding team brings together an impressive lineup of industry veterans from Disney, Netflix, Amazon Studios, Jio, and Tencent—highlighting its ambition to become a global entertainment powerhouse.

While the slate of projects and rollout timelines remain under wraps, Mythik promises to leverage cutting-edge technology across production, distribution, and audience engagement—positioning itself as a truly “tech-first” entertainment company.

Kothari’s entrepreneurial journey reflects his flair for transformation and storytelling. He began by acquiring the bankrupt comic book company Valiant Entertainment, leading its revival and eventual $100 million acquisition by DMG Entertainment. His work there culminated in the production of Bloodshot, a Hollywood film starring Vin Diesel.

Following his success at Valiant, Kothari took on critical leadership roles in India’s startup ecosystem, including CEO of Housing.com, Chief Strategy and Investment Officer at Snapdeal, and CEO of FreeCharge—where he oversaw the company’s acquisition by Axis Bank.

Beyond startups, Kothari serves on the board of Emaar India and has advised established names like Balaji Telefilms and Noon, solidifying his role as a strategic force across media and tech industries.

With Mythik, Kothari is now poised to redefine how the world consumes stories from the East, making them as mainstream and impactful as Western epics—only this time, with the power of technology and a truly global vision.
