Amod Malviya, co-founder of the B2B e-commerce giant Udaan, has joined hands with Rishi Kedia, the firm’s Chief Financial Officer, to launch a new venture called Pre6. The announcement was made on LinkedIn, but the duo has kept details about the startup under wraps for now. Pre6 will be based out of Bengaluru, a thriving hub for startups in India.
Malviya and Kedia are the latest in a growing list of prominent entrepreneurs and executives branching out to explore new opportunities. On the same day, Mayank Kumar, co-founder of edtech unicorn upGrad, and Ayush Mathur, former President of OYO Europe, unveiled their new venture, BorderPlus, which focuses on simplifying immigration and global mobility.
The trend of high-profile founders starting new ventures continued last year with a string of notable launches:
- Sports For Life, a sportstech startup by DealShare co-founder Sourjyendu Medda.
- OppDoor, was launched by Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal.
- Unikon, is a personal care brand by Bella Vita founder Aakash Anand.
- Gabit, is a conversational AI venture by Zomato co-founder Gaurav Gupta.
- Callmatic, a tech platform by Mitron TV co-founder Shivank Agarwal.
- Lyskraftand Nurix AI, twin ventures by Mukesh Bansal, co-founder of Cult.fit.
The surge in new ventures reflects the dynamic nature of India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, where seasoned leaders leverage their expertise and networks to tap into emerging opportunities. Pre6, under the stewardship of Malviya and Kedia, promises to add to this wave of innovation, with the startup community eagerly awaiting more insights into their plans.
