Swiggy Instamart Appoints Sairam Krishnamurthy as Chief Operating Officer

Quick commerce platform Swiggy Instamart has announced the appointment of Sairam Krishnamurthy as Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Operating Officer (COO). Based in Bengaluru, Krishnamurthy will oversee the company’s dark store operations, infrastructure, city growth, and expansion initiatives.

Krishnamurthy brings over 18 years of leadership experience in FMCG, consumer tech, and retail. His previous roles include COO of the supermarket business at More Retail, where he also served as Chief Merchandising Officer. Additionally, he held key positions at Ola Mobility as Head of India Supply and spent 14 years at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) in various roles related to sales, marketing, and innovation.

In recent months, Swiggy Instamart has bolstered its leadership team with the addition of several key figures. These include Himavant Srikrishna Kurnala as SVP of Product and Business, Aakash Bhotika as Vice President of Technical Advisory, Mayank Rajvaidya as Vice President of Fruits & Vegetables, and Manu Sasidharan as Associate Vice President of the FMCG category.

Swiggy Instamart currently operates in 33 cities, delivering groceries and other essentials across over 20 categories within 10 minutes. The company competes with Zepto and Blinkit in the rapidly growing quick commerce sector.
