NODWIN Gaming, a subsidiary of Nazara Technologies, has announced acquiring an additional 93% stake in gaming and esports media company AFK Gaming for ₹7.6 crore through a mix of cash and equity swaps. This acquisition brings NODWIN Gaming’s ownership of AFK Gaming to 100%, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary.
Previously holding a 7% stake, NODWIN Gaming’s latest move consolidates its position in the esports media space. As part of the agreement, the founders of AFK Gaming will become shareholders in NODWIN Gaming and take up roles across various verticals within the company’s ecosystem.
Founded in 2012 by Nishant Patel, Rakesh Ramchandran, and Siddharth Nayyar, AFK Gaming is a leading player in gaming media with its agency vertical, Max Level, offering customized marketing services to prominent industry players such as ASUS ROG, CyberPowerPC India, KRAFTON, Saudi Esports Federation, and ESL Faceit Group.
This acquisition aligns with NODWIN Gaming’s vision of expanding its influence in the esports and gaming sectors. It follows other strategic investments by its parent company, Nazara Technologies, including an increased equity holding in Next Wave Multimedia to 74.88% and the approval of ₹64 crore in funding to further support NODWIN Gaming’s growth initiatives.
NODWIN Gaming’s full integration of AFK Gaming is expected to enhance its media and marketing capabilities, reinforcing its position as a leader in India’s gaming and esports landscape.
