Nazara Technologies Acquires IP Rights of Ultimate Teen Patti from Games24x7 for ₹10 Crore

Date:

Nazara Technologies’ mobile gaming arm, Next Wave Multimedia, has acquired the intellectual property rights of Ultimate Teen Patti from Games24x7 for ₹10 crore. Ultimate Teen Patti is a popular online version of the traditional Indian card game, allowing users to play with competitors without involving real money. It is designed as a free-to-play online game and achieved a gross turnover of ₹7 crore in the financial year 2022-23 (FY23).

The acquisition aims to expand Next Wave Multimedia’s offerings in the casual freemium gaming space, enhancing its portfolio with a well-known title. This strategic move aligns with Nazara’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its position in the gaming industry.

Recently, Nazara Technologies made headlines by acquiring an additional 48.42% stake in Paper Boat Apps (PBA) from its promoters Anupam and Anshu Dhanuka for ₹300 crore. Additionally, in May, Nazara acquired the remaining 28.12% stake in its mobile gaming subsidiary Next Wave Multimedia from its founders, solidifying its control over the company.

Nazara’s diverse portfolio includes Nodwin Gaming in the esports sector, Sportskeeda, and Pro Football Network in the sports media space, showcasing its comprehensive approach to the gaming and sports entertainment industry.
