Meragi Secures $8 Million Investment Round Led by Accel to Expand Wedding Services Marketplace.

Meragi, an innovative online platform for discovering, designing, and purchasing wedding-related services and products, is poised to raise $8 million in a fresh funding round. According to sources familiar with the development, the investment will be spearheaded by Accel, with existing backers Surge and Venture Highway expected to participate.

“The deal is in the final stage as all paperwork has been completed,” disclosed a source who requested anonymity.

Meragi emerged from the eighth cohort of Peak XV’s accelerator program, Surge, which has nurtured other startups such as Arintra, AltWorld, Bifrost, Calyx Global, Diri Care, Masterchow, Metastable Materials, RedBrick AI, Requestly, Tentang Anak, and Vaaree.

Launched in 2021, Meragi offers a comprehensive suite of modern wedding services, including decoration, photography, videography, makeup, hairstyling, mehendi, catering, venue selection, entertainment, and invitations. The platform’s user-friendly interface allows customers to seamlessly explore, design, and book these services for weddings and other lifestyle events. Additionally, Meragi provides destination wedding packages in popular locations such as Goa, Coorg, Chikkamagaluru, Mysuru, and Bengaluru.

Despite multiple attempts, Accel declined to comment on the investment, and queries sent to Meragi’s co-founders remained unanswered at the time of publication.

Regulatory filings reveal that Meragi has previously raised approximately Rs 40 crore ($4.5 million) from investors including Surge, Venture Highway, and notable angels like Livspace co-founder Ramakant Sharma. Surge holds the largest external stake in Meragi at 25%, followed by Venture Highway at 20%. The company’s three co-founders—Mukund Mohan Raj, Lakshminarayan Balasubramaniam, and Abhinav Vinay Chandran—each retain a 14.25% share.

All three co-founders bring valuable experience from their tenure at Livspace, a leading home design and renovation platform. In the competitive wedding services market, Meragi faces rivals such as ShaadiSaga, Wedmegood, Wedding Brigade, and Shaadilogy.

With the new influx of capital, Meragi is well-positioned to enhance its platform, expand its service offerings, and solidify its presence in the burgeoning wedding services industry.
