HR tech platform Darwinbox has raised $140 million in a funding round led by Partners Group and KKR, with participation from Gravity Holdings. This fresh capital will be directed toward advancing research and development (R&D) efforts and accelerating the company’s global expansion.

Founded by Jayant Paleti, Rohit Chennamaneni, and Chaitanya Peddi, Darwinbox is a cloud-based human resources platform designed to streamline recruitment, payroll, employee engagement, talent management, and people analytics.
In its bid to enhance the employee experience, Darwinbox partnered with Microsoft last year to integrate its Human Capital Management (HCM) platform with Microsoft’s suite of tools, further boosting operational efficiency for businesses worldwide.
Global Footprint and Expansion Strategy
Headquartered in Hyderabad, Darwinbox has steadily expanded its presence across Southeast Asia, with operations in Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand. It has also established offices in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the United States to strengthen its global reach. The company’s primary revenue streams come from India and Southeast Asia, reflecting its strong regional market penetration.
AI-Powered HR Transformation
Darwinbox recently launched an AI-powered product suite covering various HR functions, positioning itself at the forefront of AI-driven HR solutions. The company is actively developing AI-powered agents designed to assist HR professionals in talent acquisition, digital transformation, and other critical HR processes.
Unicorn Status and Leadership Evolution
With this latest funding, Darwinbox’s total capital raised surpasses $255 million, following its $72 million Series D round in January 2022, which secured its unicorn status.
In a strategic leadership move, the company announced the elevation of its Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Vineet Singh, to the role of co-founder in August 2024. This underscores Darwinbox’s commitment to technological excellence and long-term innovation in the HR tech space.
