Zappfresh Acquires Bonsaro to Bolster Mumbai Presence and Expand Operations in Western India

0

Online fresh fish and meat retailer Zappfresh has strategically acquired Bonsaro, a Mumbai-based company specializing in the online delivery of poultry, goat, and seafood. This move marks Zappfresh’s second acquisition, following its purchase of Sukos Foods-owned Dr. Meat in July 2023.

The acquisition of Bonsaro allows Zappfresh to take over the entire operations and business of the company, including all assets, with the aim of significantly expanding its footprint in the western region of India. This expansion is set to enhance Zappfresh’s brand presence and operational capabilities in the region, positioning the company to better serve its growing customer base.

Bonsaro, founded by Sachin Shetty and Vinay D’silva, has established a strong reputation in the Mumbai area for delivering high-quality seafood, red meat, and poultry in various cuts and forms. The acquisition will enable Zappfresh to leverage Bonsaro’s expertise and infrastructure to streamline the customer experience and meet the diverse non-vegetarian food requirements of consumers in the region.

Over the next six months, Zappfresh plans to invest in and build upon Bonsaro’s existing operations, focusing on enhancing customer satisfaction and expanding its product offerings. The company also has ambitions to enter new markets within the region, including Navi Mumbai, Pune, and other satellite towns, within the next year.

As of now, Zappfresh has not yet filed its financial results for FY24. However, the company’s revenue from operations remained steady at Rs 56 crore during the fiscal year ended March 2023, with a profit of Rs 11 crore during the same period.
