Volt VC, an Ahmedabad-based micro venture capital firm, has unveiled its inaugural fund, Volt VC Fund-1, aimed at addressing the gap in pre-seed funding for startups across India. The SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) targets a corpus of Rs 45 crore, focusing on innovative, consumer-centric startups at the pre-seed stage.
The fund plans to invest between Rs 50 lakhs to Rs 2 crore in around 20-25 startups, particularly in the D2C, B2C, and B2B2C sectors. Volt VC, founded by Param Patel, offers more than just capital. The firm will provide strategic guidance, market research, product development, branding, fundraising strategies, and access to a network of industry experts.
Volt VC aims to empower a new generation of entrepreneurs, with a particular focus on supporting startups in Gujarat and other regions across India. The firm expects to close its first fund within the next 3-4 months and plans to significantly expand its presence in the super early-stage investment space within the next year.
