Uppercase Secures $9 Million in Series B Funding Led by Accel to Expand Retail Footprint

Date:

Mumbai-based D2C luggage brand Uppercase, also known as Acefour Accessories, has successfully raised $9 million in a Series B funding round led by Accel. This latest investment values the company at $60 million post-money.

Founded by Sudip Ghose, Uppercase has been steadily gaining traction in the competitive luggage market. The company, which previously raised $7 million in a pre-Series A round in 2022 led by Sixth Sense Ventures with participation from Volrado Venture Partners, plans to use the new funds to accelerate its business expansion across India.

Uppercase, which offers travel gear priced between Rs 3,500 and Rs 5,000, currently sells its products online and through 1,800 multi-brand stores nationwide. With an ambitious goal of reaching Rs 500 crore in revenue, the company aims to open 250 exclusive retail stores over the next three years.

The funding comes at a time of increased investment activity in the luggage sector. Earlier this year, competitor Mokobara raised $12 million in a Series B round led by Peak XV Partners, while other brands like Nasher Miles and EUME secured $4 million and $1.7 million, respectively. With this fresh capital, Uppercase is well-positioned to strengthen its market presence and continue its growth trajectory.
