ClayCo Cosmetics, a skincare brand founded by Niharika Jhunjhunwala in March, has raised $2 million in a Series A funding round led by Unilever Ventures. This marks the brand’s first external investment, aimed at accelerating its growth and market presence.
The funds will be utilized for expanding ClayCo’s product portfolio, boosting branding efforts, enhancing recruitment, and covering working capital needs. ClayCo has gained attention for its unique fusion of natural ingredients and modern skincare technology, drawing inspiration from ancient traditions and global cultures.
The brand’s debut collection, “Rituals of Japan,” features products like cleansers, moisturizers, serums, and essences, blending traditional Japanese ingredients such as rice, sake, and azuki beans with cutting-edge formulations. Among its offerings, the Rice and Sake Sleep Mask has become a best-seller on major platforms like Amazon, Nykaa, and Tira, with over 100,000 units sold.
ClayCo’s next move is to introduce a Moroccan-inspired body care line, reinforcing its vision of providing affordable luxury through high-performance products inspired by beauty traditions from around the world.
