str8bat Secures $3.5 Million Series A Funding to Revolutionize Cricket Training with Smart Wearables

Date:

Bengaluru-based sports-tech platform str8bat has raised $3.5 million (approximately Rs 29.4 crore) in a Series A funding round led by Exfinity Venture Partners, alongside participation from TRTLEternal Capital, and VCats Group. Existing investors Techstars and SucSEED Indovation Fund also contributed to the round.

With this fresh capital infusion, str8bat aims to enhance its sensor-based wearables and expand its athlete performance tracking capabilities, particularly focusing on cricket. The company’s flagship product provides detailed shot analysis by monitoring players’ stance, shot type, and movements, powered by an AI-driven engine. This technology allows users to access in-depth performance data and receive guidance from leading global coaches.

Since its inception in 2017 by Gagan DagaRahul Nagar, and Madhusudan R, str8bat has gained recognition for serving prominent clients like Rajasthan RoyalsCricket Australia, and SG Cricket. Notably, its partnership with SG Cricket led to the development of the “world’s first smart willow”—a cricket bat equipped with an IoT device that delivers shot-tracking insights without relying on cameras.

Having captured data on millions of cricket shots, str8bat is currently utilized by around 400 elite-level players. The company aims to bring its cutting-edge technology to over a million athletes within the next five years.

str8bat joins a growing list of Indian sportstech platforms, such as RooterSportJacksWorldstageSportvot, and KheloMore, as it continues to shape the future of tech-driven sports training.
