Karban Envirotech, a burgeoning startup specializing in energy-efficient electronic appliances, has raised Rs 8.93 crore ($1.07 million) in a seed funding round. The investment was spearheaded by Titan Capital, Rainmatter, and All In Capital, signalling confidence in Karban’s innovative approach to sustainable technology.
Urban Company, JK Family Office, and prominent angel investors Kunal Shah, Anupam Mittal, and Bharat Jaisinghiani are among the notable investors joining the funding round.
According to the company’s official statement, the capital infusion will be instrumental in propelling Karban’s growth trajectory, enhancing its team, fostering innovation, and furthering new product development.
Founded in December 2021 by Karan Bansal and Tanya Goyal, Karban has carved a niche with its flagship product—a bladeless ceiling fan equipped with an in-built air purifier and lights. This distinctive design not only reduces electricity consumption but also offers multi-utility functionality, providing airflow, air purification, and lighting solutions for a variety of settings, including homes, offices, hotels, and restaurants.
With its sights set on India’s burgeoning smart consumer appliances market valued at Rs 50,000 crore, Karban faces competition from emerging players like Atomberg and established giants such as Havells, Crompton, and Superfan. However, Karban’s commitment to innovation and sustainability favours it in this competitive landscape.
