HairOriginals Secures $5 Million in Series A to Expand Try-at-Home Services and Experience Centers

Direct-to-consumer (D2C) hair extensions and wig brand HairOriginals has raised $5 million (Rs 43.5 crore) in its Series A round, co-led by Anicut Growth Fund and 12 Flags Consumer Holdings. The funding round also saw participation from Lenskart co-founder and CEO Peyush Bansal.

This latest investment follows HairOriginals’ pre-Series A round in December 2023, where it secured $2.75 million (around Rs 23 crore).

Expansion Plans and Innovation

With the newly raised capital, HairOriginals plans to:
– Expand its on-demand “try at home” services to 40 cities.
– Enhance research and development (R&D) for innovative hair solutions.
– Launch 25–30 company-owned experience centers within the next 12 months.

About HairOriginals

Founded in 2019 by Jitendra Sharma, HairOriginals specializes in hair extensions and DIY wigs made from ethically sourced real human hair. The brand offers non-surgical hair solutions for volume, length, and colour transformations without the use of harsh chemicals or dyes.

So far, HairOriginals has:
– Partnered with 1,400+ salons across India and North America.
– Established multiple experience centres in collaboration with the Kurves salon chain in North America.

Competing in a Growing Market

HairOriginals competes with Nish Hair and Euphoria, two other D2C brands in the premium hair extension space.

The brand gained significant visibility after featuring on Shark Tank India Season 1, where it received funding from Ashneer Grover, Peyush Bansal, and Anupam Mittal.

With this fresh funding, HairOriginals aims to strengthen its presence in the global hair extension market while making high-quality, non-invasive hair solutions accessible to a wider audience.
