EyeROV Secures $1.2M in Pre-Series A Funding to Expand Global Presence in Marine Robotics

Date:

Marine robotics deep-tech startup EyeROV has raised INR 10 Crore (approximately $1.2 million) in a pre-Series A funding round led by Unicorn India Ventures. This infusion of capital will accelerate the company’s global expansion and the development of advanced marine robotics products and solutions.

EyeROV, co-founded in 2016 by Johns T Mathai and Kannappa Palaniappan P, has positioned itself as a leader in marine robotics and artificial intelligence. The Kochi-based startup empowers industries such as energy, maritime, defense, and infrastructure with cutting-edge unmanned technologies.

EyeROV has introduced commercial underwater drones and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), alongside an unmanned surface vehicle (USV) that provides innovative solutions in India and the MENA region. The company’s portfolio includes infrastructure inspection solutions and collaborations with defense R&D labs and forces through the Innovations for Defence Excellence (IDEX) initiative. These efforts have been aimed at developing advanced maritime intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) solutions.

The startup has already completed over 100 underwater inspections, serving prominent clients such as Tata, Adani, BPCL, DRDO, and the Indian Coast Guard. With this new funding, EyeROV aims to triple its revenue by the end of the financial year, driven by increased sales in both domestic and international markets.

This latest round of funding builds on EyeROV’s previous capital raise of $788,000 from GAIL and other investors, further solidifying its position as a key player in the marine robotics industry.
