Emversity Secures $5M to Redefine Vocational Education for India’s Grey-Collar Workforce.

In a significant boost to India’s skill development sector, Beyond Odds Technologies — the parent company of Emversity— has raised $5 million in a pre-Series A round. The fresh funds come from leading investors Lightspeed and Z47, along with participation from Alteria Capital and Innoven Capital.

At the heart of this story is Vivek Sinha, the former COO of Unacademy, who launched Beyond Odds Technologies in April 2024 with a bold vision and an initial $11 million seed round led by Matrix Partners India and Lightspeed. His mission? To bridge the gap between education and employment for India’s often-overlooked grey-collar workforce.

Today, Emversity is already making waves. It’s active across 36 campuses in 18 states — and that’s just the beginning. The platform aims to scale to more than 75 campuses by the end of this financial year, bringing high-quality, job-focused education closer to millions of young Indians.

At its core, Emversity is all about relevance and readiness. Through the School of Allied Health Sciences, students are trained for vital roles like nurses, paramedics, lab technicians, and caregivers — the very people who keep our healthcare systems running. And with the newly launched School of Hospitality, learners are stepping into exciting careers in hotels and restaurants, mastering everything from culinary arts to room operations through real-world training with top hospitality partners.

What makes Emversity different is how deeply it integrates with the industries it serves. Courses aren’t just taught in classrooms — they’re co-created with employers. Students earn stipends while they learn, follow industry-designed curricula, and walk into internships and job placements that are already mapped out for them.

Through its flagship programs SMART and EDGE, Emversity offers both vocational and honors degree tracks in collaboration with colleges and universities. The goal? To give students a clear, supported path from education to employment — no guesswork, no dead ends.

“We’re not just building a platform; we’re building futures,” says Vivek. “This funding allows us to grow faster, partner deeper, and stay true to our mission of creating real impact for the youth of India.”

With this new chapter, Emversity is set to empower a generation — one skilled, job-ready professional at a time.
