DeHaat, one of India’s leading full-stack agritech platforms, has acquired AgriCentral, a digital advisory platform with over 10 million users, from Olam Agri in an all-cash deal. The strategic acquisition further solidifies DeHaat’s position in the agritech space, enabling it to offer a broader suite of services to farmers across India.
AgriCentral, launched in 2018, leverages advanced technologies such as satellite imagery, machine learning, and big data analytics to provide farmers with critical information, including crop price data, crop planning, diagnostics, and a community interaction platform. The integration of AgriCentral’s capabilities enhances DeHaat’s ability to deliver precision advisory, mechanization, insurance, and cattle advisory services, aimed at improving the livelihoods of Indian farmers.
DeHaat, founded in 2012, operates through an extensive network that includes over 15,000 DeHaat Centres and partnerships with more than 1,000 agribusiness institutions. The platform offers end-to-end farming solutions such as advisory services, high-quality input delivery, and market linkages, benefiting millions of farmers in over 12 Indian states.
This acquisition marks another milestone in DeHaat’s aggressive growth strategy. Over the years, the company has acquired several agritech firms, including FarmGuide, Vezamart, Helicrofter, YCook, and the fruit export business of Freshtrop Fruits, to bolster its technological and operational capabilities.
DeHaat’s financial performance in FY24 highlights its robust growth trajectory. The company reported a gross revenue of Rs 2,674.8 crore for the fiscal year ending in March 2024, a significant increase from Rs 1,965 crore in FY23. Moreover, DeHaat managed to reduce its losses by 34%, narrowing them to Rs 244.68 crore from Rs 371 crore in the previous fiscal year.
By acquiring AgriCentral, DeHaat aims to expand its reach and enhance the value it delivers to farmers, further establishing itself as a leader in India’s agritech ecosystem.
