Cornext, a pioneer in building a fodder ecosystem to support dairy cattle farmers, has secured $2.2 million in a seed funding round led by Omnivore.
The funding will fuel Cornext’s ambitious plans to increase its yearly silage production to 1 million metric tons by 2026 and invest in research and development of baling technology.
Established in 2015 by Madhav Kshatriya and Feroz Ahmed, Cornext has developed technology capable of producing compact 50 kg silage bales. These bales are distributed to dairy farmers through a network of village-level fodder entrepreneurs.
Having already deployed 400 fodder entrepreneurs across India, Cornext has expanded its reach globally, exporting its silage baling machines to Asia, Africa, and Latin America regions.
Based in Hyderabad, Cornext is a National Advisory Council of India’s Department of Animal Husbandry member. In recognition of its innovative contributions, the startup was awarded the national best startup award in agriculture-allied sectors by the Government of India in 2020.
Cornext boasts an impressive list of institutional clients, including AMUL, SUMUL, BANAS, MILMA, KMF, and various other large dairies and cooperatives.
This investment from Omnivore validates Cornext’s vision and signifies the growing importance of sustainable solutions in the agriculture sector, particularly in supporting dairy farming communities. With this capital infusion, Cornext is poised to further revolutionize the fodder ecosystem, benefiting farmers both locally and globally.
