Burmese vegan restaurant chain Burma Burma has successfully raised $2 million in its latest equity investment round. This funding round saw participation from several family offices, including Negen Capital, which also led the startup’s previous $2 million seed round in November 2022.
Founded by Ankit Gupta and Chirag Chhajer, Burma Burma Restaurant and Tea Room aims to bring the rich flavours of Burmese cuisine to a broader audience. The company’s mission extends beyond operating as a traditional restaurant; it seeks to offer a unique and wholesome dining experience that engages patrons on multiple levels.
Based in Mumbai, Burma Burma is rapidly expanding its footprint across India. The company currently operates 13 restaurants and delivery kitchens in major cities such as Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad. With plans to enter additional metro areas, the brand is poised for significant growth.
Over the past year, Burma Burma has demonstrated impressive performance, doubling its annual recurring revenue (ARR) from Rs 46 crores in FY23 to over Rs 100 crores in FY24. The company has also achieved an EBITDA of over 13% in July, with a target to exceed a 15% monthly EBITDA by FY25.
This new investment underscores the confidence investors have in Burma Burma’s expansion strategy and its potential to redefine the dining experience in India.
