Date:

Baanhem Ventures, the innovative firm behind the highly anticipated startup-focused reality TV show Startup Thamizha, has successfully raised Rs 3.3 crore in fresh funding from tech leader Kumar Vembu through his investment firm, Mudhal Partners. The investment marks a significant milestone for the newly established company, which was co-founded earlier this year by Hemachandran L. and Balachandar R.

Baanhem Ventures is dedicated to empowering the next generation of innovators and job creators by identifying, supporting, and nurturing first-generation native entrepreneurs from Tamil Nadu. The company’s mission is to create a thriving ecosystem where aspiring entrepreneurs can access the resources, guidance, and financial backing they need to succeed.

A key initiative of Baanhem Ventures is Startup Thamizha, a reality TV show designed to showcase promising Tamil Nadu-based entrepreneurs at seed and growth stages. This flagship program has already attracted a commitment of over Rs 200 crore in investments for startups across its first three seasons, bringing together industry leaders eager to support the region’s entrepreneurial talent.

The show aims to spotlight the diverse and inspiring stories of first-generation entrepreneurs from Tamil Nadu, fostering a shift in mindset among High Net-Worth Individuals (HNIs) to invest in local startups. By providing financial support and mentorship, Startup Thamizha aims to strengthen Tamil Nadu’s entrepreneurial heritage, ensuring that the state remains a hub for innovation and job creation in India.

Set to air on a popular GEC channel, Startup Thamizha will play a critical role in identifying promising startups and entrepreneurs, offering them a platform for visibility, growth, and investment. Through this initiative, Baanhem Ventures seeks to catalyze positive change and empower Tamil Nadu’s next-gen leaders to leave a lasting impact on the national entrepreneurial landscape.
