Date:

Admissions startup Ambitio has secured $2 million in a seed funding round led by BLinC Invest, with participation from Ritu Bapna and other investors. This follows an earlier investment of $187K in the same round from First Chequeand others.

The fresh capital will be used to enhance technology, improve student experience, and expand distribution channels, the company announced in a press release.

Founded in 2022 by Dirghayu Kaushik and Vikrant Shivalik, Ambitio is an AI-driven admissions platform that leverages data from past applicants and alumni experts to offer a personalized application experience. The Bengaluru-based startup analyzes over 10 million data points to generate customized insights, helping students navigate the complex admissions process with ease.

Using AI, Ambitio processes over 1 million successful applications to craft personalized admission strategies. Its proprietary matching algorithm—trained on 50,000+ university programs—identifies the best-fit universities based on a student’s academic performance, career aspirations, and interests. This data-driven approach leads to higher acceptance rates and better opportunities for students.

Ambitio claims that its students have gained admission to Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, Oxford, and other prestigious universities. The startup also asserts that its AI-driven strategy improves admission odds by more than 5x.

Looking ahead, Ambitio aims to help 500,000 students access global education in the next two years. It competes with other admissions-focused startups like Yocket, Gradvine, and MiM-Essay.

By combining AI, data intelligence, and expert insights, Ambitio is set to reshape the future of college admissions—one successful application at a time.
