Direct-to-consumer (D2C) nutrition brand Supply6 has secured an undisclosed investment from former South African cricket legend AB de Villiers, who will also serve as the brand ambassador. This strategic partnership aims to amplify the brand’s presence and commitment to promoting healthier lifestyles.
Supply6 last raised funding in a pre-Series A round in July 2022. The company was co-founded in 2019 by Vaibhav Bhandari and Rahul Jacob, and is based in Bengaluru. Supply6 offers a range of health supplements that address common deficiencies in Vitamin D, B12, and gut health, along with targeted solutions for skin wellness and energy enhancement.
AB de Villiers expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “I recognise the critical role nutrition plays in health and performance. Their commitment to comprehensive and convenient nutrition solutions aligns with my dedication to peak performance and well-being. The brand’s rapid expansion is impressive, and I am eager to support its mission of promoting healthier lifestyles.”
Supply6 competes with established nutrition brands such as OZiva, BoldFit, and HealthKart, among others.
The involvement of high-profile athletes in startups is a growing trend. For example, Shikhar Dhawan has invested in and become a brand ambassador for the D2C brand Svish, while MS Dhoni has taken a similar role with Pune-based EV startup EMotorad. Additionally, KL Rahul has invested in Oto Capital, Hyugalife, and XYXX, and Hardik Pandya has backed Aretto, Yu Foodlabs, LenDenClub, and Bidzapp.
This collaboration with AB de Villiers is expected to enhance Supply6’s market reach and reinforce its mission of delivering high-quality nutritional products to consumers.
