Q: Can you tell us about the origins of Tinkle Jewels?

A: I started Tinkle Jewels as a creative venture during my 11th class. Inspired by her creativity in arts and crafts, I initially made it as a gift for my mom. My teachers’ and peers’ positive feedback and orders encouraged me to continue designing jewellery.

Q: How did your journey progress from there?

A: After completing my 12th, I moved to Gurgaon for higher studies and continued working on Tinkle Jewels. My college principal supported me by arranging a stall in college, which led to more opportunities and orders. I officially incorporated Tinkle Jewels in 2023, focusing on handmade jewellery.

Q: What is the significance of the name “Tinkle Jewels”?

A: The name “Tinkle Jewels” is derived from my sister’s nickname, Tinkle, combined with the sound of tinkling jewellery. It embodies both the personal and artistic aspects of our brand.

Q: How does Tinkle Jewels contribute to women’s empowerment?

A: We train and employ women, including those from unprivileged backgrounds, providing them with skills and income. We have trained over 20 women and currently employ more than 10, focusing on handmade craftsmanship.

Q: How do you market and sell Tinkle Jewels products?

A: Initially, I sold products through exhibitions and government events. Now, we are expanding to e-commerce platforms like Amazon and plan to join Myntra, Flipkart, and Etsy. We also utilize Instagram, WhatsApp, and direct contacts for sales.

Q: What are your plans for the future of Tinkle Jewels?

A: I aim to expand Tinkle Jewels into an MNC by leveraging the uniqueness and value of handmade Indian jewellery, promoting traditional craftsmanship globally. I am also focused on building a dedicated team to scale up operations.

Q: How do you manage pricing and profitability for Tinkle Jewels products?

A: We purchase raw materials at wholesale prices and pay workers based on the time and complexity of each piece. After factoring in all costs, including labour and materials, we maintain a profit margin of around 45%.

Q: What challenges have you faced as a young entrepreneur?

A: As a sole proprietor, I handle all aspects of the business, which can be overwhelming at times. I’ve received discouragement from some, but my passion and vision for Tinkle Jewels keep me motivated.

A: I envision Tinkle Jewels becoming a globally recognized brand, showcasing the rich tradition of Indian handmade jewellery. I am committed to empowering more women and expanding our reach through online platforms.
