Nothing Before Coffee Raises $2.3M to Brew Big Expansion Across India and Beyond.

Jaipur-based QSR coffee chain Nothing Before Coffee (NBC) has secured $2.3 million in a pre-Series A funding round, led by Prath Ventures with participation from SYL Investments. This funding marks a major milestone in NBC’s journey to become India’s most accessible and beloved coffee destination.

Previously, NBC had raised $313,000 from Vibha Jain and other angel investors. With the fresh infusion of capital, the company plans to aggressively expand its footprint by launching 150+ stores across India by FY26. Additionally, the funds will be deployed to bolster its digital platforms, enhance supply chain efficiency, onboard top talent, and experiment with new store formats.

Founded in 2017 by Ankesh Jain, Anand Jain, Akshay Kedia, and Shubham Bhandari, NBC has carved a niche for itself with its wide-ranging beverage menu of over 100 items—spanning coffee, shakes, and specialty drinks. What sets NBC apart is its focus on affordability, local flavors, and inclusive spaces. The brand’s signature “Shrappe”—a desi-inspired frappe—along with its seasonal innovations, has resonated strongly with younger audiences across India.

“We are now well-positioned to scale rapidly,” said Ankesh Jain, Co-founder of NBC. “The capital will help us deepen our presence, invest in technology and talent, and unlock the next phase of growth as we work towards becoming India’s most loved and accessible coffee chain.”

NBC’s strategy is rooted in serving Tier-II and Tier-III cities, a market segment still underserved by premium café brands. By combining strong unit economics with community-centric café experiences, NBC is rewriting the rules of India’s café culture. So far, it has served around 2 million customers and recently made its international debut with an outlet in Portugal.

With this funding round, Nothing Before Coffee is ready to take its hyperlocal, high-impact café model to the next level—brewing opportunity, one cup at a time.
