Cybersecurity startup Neural Defend has raised over $600,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), with additional backing from MIT SBXI, Techstars, and Soonicorn Ventures. The fresh capital will fuel the enhancement of its agentic AI capabilities for real-time, multimodal deepfake detection, alongside accelerating research, development, and product innovation.

Founded in 2024 by Piyush Verma, Sivashankar Selvarajan, and Sumit Singh, Neural Defend specializes in AI-driven deepfake detection, offering scalable and resilient cybersecurity solutions. The startup is on a mission to combat AI-generated digital deception, redefining identity protection and fraud prevention for businesses and governments worldwide.

Unlike traditional deepfake detection methods, Neural Defend’s proprietary AI models analyze video, image, audio, and real-time streams to identify digital manipulations across multiple formats. This approach ensures robust fraud prevention for enterprises, particularly fintech firms and financial institutions leveraging AI-driven video verification and KYC processes.
