Change Engine to Invest $5M in Early-Stage AI Startups in India

Date:

Gurugram-based startup accelerator Change Engine has announced its commitment to invest over $5 million in early-stage AI startups in India over the next five years. This initiative aims to support six high-potential AI startups annually, fostering innovation in machine learning stack technologies and business applications that cater to global markets.

Change Engine’s vision is to develop second-generation AI products from India—solutions that go beyond surface-level AI applications to offer scalable, tailored innovations. The accelerator’s six-month program provides startups with a cutting-edge sandbox environment, extensive product development support, and access to a global mentor network.

Each year, Change Engine will provide seed funding of $50,000 to six startups, followed by up to $150,000 in syndication funding. This structured funding approach will contribute to the overall $5 million investment plan over the next three years.

Change Engine has played a key role in establishing a robust AI ecosystem in Delhi NCR, organizing events such as the AI Product Bootcamp at IIT Delhi. This event offered hands-on training to over 40 AI enthusiasts, featuring industry veterans from leading companies like Google, Meta, and Amazon. The accelerator has also conducted studies to analyze AI research

Change Engine’s previous cohorts have achieved notable success. For instance, Sonic Lambs, a participant in the accelerator, was featured on Shark Tank India Season 4 and secured Rs 50 lakh in funding. Another startup, CallPrep, was recognized in Nikhil Kamath’s WTFund list, highlighting its potential in the AI-driven business landscape.

A distinguishing feature of Change Engine’s program is its Customer Advisory Board, comprising industry leaders from top US organizations such as Amazon, Google, McKinsey, and Adobe. These experts provide real-world insights, validate startup ideas, and help refine go-to-market strategies, ensuring startups are well-equipped for success in global markets.

By investing in AI startups, providing mentorship, and leveraging its strategic industry network, Change Engine is working to position India as a global leader in AI innovation. This initiative underscores the growing importance of AI in shaping the future of technology and business worldwide.
