In a significant stride towards digitizing spiritual experiences, Vama’s virtual spiritual app has successfully raised $1.5 million in a recent seed funding round led by Wavemaker Partners. The funding round also witnessed continued support from existing prominent investors, including Lisa Gokongwei-Cheng, Harit Nagpal, Blume Founders Fund, Alluvium, Untitled VC, and notable angels such as Burak Buyukdemir and Dhruv Bahl.
This funding success follows Entrackr’s exclusive report in September, hinting at Vama’s impending financial boost. Before this latest round, Vama had secured $500,000 in funding as a top-up to its seed round led by Lisa Gokongwei-Cheng in December of the previous year.
Vama, founded in late 2020 by Manu Jain, Himanshu Semwal, and Acharya Dev, offers a virtual haven for spiritual seekers, providing convenient access to e-pujas, e-darshans, and astrology services. The platform, available on Android and iOS devices, facilitates virtual puja remedies in temples for devotees and customers worldwide.
Funds will acquire top-tier talent, intensify product development, and enhance technological capabilities. Vama aims to expand its user base further, solidifying its position as a leader in the virtual spiritual realm.
According to a press release by Vama, the platform has already facilitated over 150,000 astrology consultations and virtual pujas, showcasing the growing appetite for digital spiritual experiences.
As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, Vama’s innovative approach aligns with the evolving preferences of modern devotees, offering a seamless blend of technology and spirituality. The infusion of fresh capital is expected to propel Vama’s mission of providing a holistic digital space for individuals seeking spiritual solace and connection, regardless of geographical boundaries.
