Risa Labs Raises $3.5M to Speed Up Cancer Care with AI, Backed by Binny Bansal.

Risa Labs, a health-tech startup on a mission to fix one of cancer care’s most frustrating bottlenecks—administrative delays—has raised $3.5 million in seed funding. The round was led by Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal, with support from Oncology Ventures, General Catalyst, z21 Ventures, Odd Bird VC, and angel investor Ashish Gupta.

Founded just last year by Kshitij Jaggi and Kumar Shivang, Risa Labs is already making waves in the oncology world. Their platform, BOSS (Business Operating System as a Service), is an AI-driven orchestration tool that tackles the behind-the-scenes admin work that often slows down treatment for cancer patients. Using a mix of AI agents, large language models, and digital twins, BOSS breaks complex workflows into smaller, automated tasks—making the whole process faster and more reliable.

It’s not just about saving time—it’s about saving lives.
Today, nearly 70% of cancer patients face delays in starting treatment due to red tape like prior authorizations. For some, that wait can stretch to a month—far too long when dealing with aggressive cancers.

That’s exactly what Risa Labs wants to change.

At one U.S. cancer center where BOSS is already in use, the results are impressive:

  • Authorization times dropped from 30 minutes to under five
  • Over $1 million in medications processed seamlessly
  • Administrative costs slashed by two-thirds

With fresh funding in hand, Risa Labs plans to roll out its platform to 100 cancer centers across the U.S. in the next two years, bringing much-needed efficiency to a system that patients and providers alike often find overwhelming.

“Our goal is simple,” said co-founder Kshitij Jaggi. “No one should have to wait for treatment because of paperwork. We’re building the digital backbone for a faster, smarter, and more connected cancer care system.”

The company is also thinking long-term, aiming to extend its tech across the broader oncology ecosystem—from hospitals and life sciences companies to insurers and research teams. Ultimately, Risa Labs wants to create a unified layer of AI-powered coordination that supports every stage of the cancer treatment journey.

With this strong start and an ambitious roadmap ahead, Risa Labs is poised to bring real change to the way cancer care is delivered—one workflow at a time.
