In a significant boost to mental-health tech startup BetterSpace, PedalStart has led a successful pre-seed funding round, injecting Rs 45 lakh into the company. Founded in 2020 by Shivli Shrivastava and Abhilash Shrivastava, BetterSpace has emerged as a pivotal player in the mental health sector, focusing on psychologist-led counselling workshops, community engagement programs, and a range of initiatives designed to address diverse mental health challenges.
The freshly acquired funds are earmarked for various strategic initiatives, including enhancing existing offline and online services, developing new product ranges, increasing investment in marketing and brand visibility, and optimising technology infrastructure. BetterSpace, in a press release, expressed its commitment to utilizing these resources to further its mission of providing accessible and effective mental wellness solutions.
BetterSpace has already made strides with its mobile app and self-paced products, offering tools and content for mental health improvement and personal growth. The startup is gearing up to launch innovative tech-enabled solutions, including the “Imagi Box” designed to assist children with learning and cognitive difficulties, “Therapy Pods” dedicated to ensuring privacy during hospital therapy sessions, and a mental wellness game for families.
The Raipur-based company has gained recognition for its wide-reaching impact, facilitating over 5,000 offline sessions in diverse settings such as schools, hospitals, community centres, and corporate offices. This funding round, led by PedalStart, marks a pivotal moment for BetterSpace as it prepares to expand its offerings and profoundly impact mental health support.
The landscape of mental-health tech includes notable players like Wysa, Innerhour, Juno Clinic, YourDOST, eSpyClinic, and Trijog. With PedalStart’s significant investment, BetterSpace is poised to distinguish itself further in this competitive market, bringing innovative solutions to the forefront of mental health and well-being.
